Young Engineering Services was founded in 2006 to provide quality mechanical engineering services to clients throughout California. We continue to build on the past experience of our staff gained through managing and engineering a wide range of projects for over 35 years.
Young Engineering Services is located in Santa Cruz, California and services clients throughout the Monterey and San Francisco Bay Areas and beyond.

The firm’s founder and sole owner, James W. Young, P.E., has engineered and managed a wide variety of projects over a 35-year career in mechanical engineering and energy management. Mr. Young is a graduate of the University of California, Davis in mechanical engineering and is a licensed mechanical engineer in California. His career includes over 27 years as an engineering consultant and 8 years in energy management (performing energy audits and implementing energy saving projects). Mr. Young’s project experience includes universities (laboratories, classrooms, residence halls, and central heating/cooling plants), churches, schools K-12, offices, museums, pharmaceutical laboratories and industrial process (including seawater handling systems).
